65 Fellows Elected Into the American Academy of Microbiology

In February, the American Academy of Microbiology (the Academy) elected 65 new fellows to the Class of 2025. Fellows of the Academy, the honorific leadership group within the American Society for Microbiology, are elected annually through a highly selective, peer-review process based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology.

The 2025 Academy Fellows are: 

  • Alfredo Herrera-Estrella, Ph.D., Center for Research and Advanced Studies, National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. 
  • Adam Lauring, M.D., Ph.D., University of Michigan Medical School. 
  • Adam Martiny, Ph.D., University of California, Irvine. 
  • Adilia Warris, M.D. Ph.D., University of Exeter. 
  • Aindrila Mukhopadhyay, Ph.D., Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. 
  • Alexander Bukreyev, Ph.D., University of Texas Medical Branch. 
  • Alexandre Soares Rosado, Ph.D., King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
